The result of the proposal was no move. Discussion of whether or not to merge the article with List of tallest buildings in Metro Manila should continue below.Cúchullain t/c 15:43, 17 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

List of tallest buildings in the City of ManilaList of tallest buildings in Manila – Move back to its original location. "City of Manila' is wholly redundant since the city is already the primary topic for Manila. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 13:02, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • And redirect List of tallest buildings and structures in Paris to "List of tallest buildings and structures in the Paris region" despite there being no consensus for it either? In both cases, best practice was followed, with Paris referring to the Paris region (Île-de-France (region)) and Manila to Metro Manila (region) as how majority of readers would treat them. And Manila, just like Paris, has its tallest buildings outside its city limits but still within its region, e.g. La Defense, hence the redirect. The title "List of tallest buildings in the City of Manila" was done out of natural disambiguation per WP:PRECISE. --RioHondo (talk) 17:00, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment – why does the city need its own list? They're all covered, and city listed, in the metro article. Merge. Dicklyon (talk) 23:30, 5 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • I am indifferent to that. This still should have been discussed first. Marcus Qwertyus (talk) 03:05, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Agree on the merge. I had serious doubts about the creation of these sublists anyway which to me looks nothing but an exercise in political or regionalistic ego. I support the deletion or merger of the following lists in Metro Manila suburbs as well: List of tallest buildings in Makati, Mandaluyong, Muntinlupa, Pasig, Quezon City and Taguig, all of which are already covered by the Metro article. However, if the consensus is to keep all these, I maintain that the city article title should remain the same.--RioHondo (talk) 06:39, 6 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Merge as per RioHondo above. If you make it a sortable table, there is no need for separate articles because you can simply sort it by city to get the same info. -- P 1 9 9   20:43, 14 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The buildings are already listed in a sortable table for the Metro article, with a separate column for City. Cheers! --RioHondo (talk) 07:26, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Good, then this article is really redundant. Let's just redirect it! -- P 1 9 9   13:45, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Regardless, this article is still redundant as it's already covered in the Metro Manila article along with those other Metro Manila cities. RioHondo (talk) 18:29, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Since there's already a mother article this article should redirect to the appropriately-named metro article.–HTD 18:40, 15 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.

Merge[edit]

WTF there are also other lists on other cities. They have to be merged with the Metro Manila list, with a height limit, somewhere on the 125 m level. I was tempted to redirect it wholesale but there was some useful info such as the history of the tallest buildings and they can added to the metro area-centric list. –HTD 13:00, 18 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done. --RioHondo (talk) 23:27, 7 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
