Skycycle Please be cautious in adding list entries where the source does not explicitly ascribe the event to "vviolent non-state actors for political, religious, or ideological motives" or explicitly label the event as "terrorism". EvergreenFir (talk) 15:29, 3 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Difference between Terrorism and War

[edit]

It is my belief that terrorism is a specific and direct attack on civilians or structures to achieve political goals. It is the use of "terror". I don't think engagements between Soldiers and, albeit non-state/unrecognized, opponents. One example in this list is a mortar attack on an Israeli Air base. This would not constitute a terrorist attack because this is, for all intents and purposes, a conventional military battle in which one opponent bombards another military opponent. No civilians are targets in the attacks and the goal is solely strategic. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2602:306:318F:4750:7441:6E1F:FBD9:4494 (talk) 13:36, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
