Please stop that pointless reverting war and take here your arguments. Český Těšín/Cieszyn was one town before 1920 and tram was built in that time. Also there is no reason delte information about boreders and link to table with less info instead. --Jklamo 16:18, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

It is you who will need to explain why the tramway that served Český Těšín/Cieszyn should be treated "differently" than all others which served two towns, one on each side of an international border. See, for example, Calais (ME), US / St. Stephen (NB) Canada. You might also wish to read the table footnote for Cieszyn (Poland table). Ldemery 03:53, 6 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Because it was not a system serving two towns, but small (1.8 km) tram system serving one town that became accidentaly interwotn and international. So that why it is not comparable. As "stand-alone" lists, the "town tramway" lists might eventually become a collection of links to more-detailed Wikipedia articles (with maps and images) about each town tramway system.
However, with specific reference to this list, and this system: there is absolutely no justification to give the tramway that served Český Těšín/Cieszyn any "different" treatment than all others serving two towns, one on each side of an international border.
The fact that the border "appeared" after opening of the tramway is not relevant, because this is not the only location where this occurred. In addition to East and West Berlin, see also Frankfurt (Oder), DE / Słubice, PL and Görlitz, DE / Zgorzelec, PL. Construction of new cross-border tramways is planned in both locations. At Gubin, PL / Guben, DE, the border did not "appear" until after the tramway was closed. The "Jerusalem Light Railway" will cross de jure "borders" that are recognized by some, but not others.
The fact that you insist on "Český Těšín/Cieszyn" rather than "Cieszyn/Český Těšín" tends to suggest something other than "NPOV." The tramway was a municipal undertaking of Tessin city, and so the head office (and also the depot) were located in today's Cieszyn. The system continued to operate as "one" following the division. The historic record contains no hint that separate services were operated on the Czech and Polish sides of the river following the division. Thus, given a strict policy of listing each tramway system only once, this tramway would be listed under Cieszyn, and only under Cieszyn. However, "cross-border" tramway services were not common, so it is "reasonable" to be flexible and list towns on each side of the border - as they exist today - with cross links (and notes, if needed). Brunner Dampf Tramway[edit]

When this standard gauge ( 1435 mm ) steam operated company existed, German language was offical language in Brno. Thus, history must be taken as it was and it is correct to give out details as they were in 1884 - 1900 as can bee seen from the delivered locomotives.

Städtische Dampf-Trambahn Oderberg[edit]

When this Steam Tramway was in operation Bohumin was offically Oderberg. It operated a short single line with following stopping places: Terminal at Ringplatz ( Oderberg Stadt ), Löschdepot, Koslowetz, Ziegelei, Linde-Zentralbad, Neue Strasse, Elisabethstrasse, Bahnhof Terminal. Journey time in both directions over the whole line was 12 minutes in spring 1914. There were daily 25 departures from both terminals.

Oderberg was very important railway junction where railway lines from Berlin, Budapest, Wien and Krakow connected each other. On 01.01.1940 the population was 12176. By the same time the Deutcshe Reichsbahn locomotive depot at Oderberg had 780 employers, or 6.4 per cent of the Oderberg´s total population worked on the railways in addition to those who worked at passenger station and freight service.

Oderberg housed also another Vicinal type local railway the Schlesische Landes-Eisenbahnen ( Silesian Regional Railways ) with its head office at Ringplatz. This regional, nearly steam tramway type railway run from Oderberg Bahnhof via Deutschleuten or Orlau to Kopaniny, Karwin and Freistadt 14.2 km.

Kleinbahn Witkowitz - Zabreh[edit]

It seems that the Witkowitz steam tramway was actually this 3.7 km line. It was operated by Witkowitser Bergbau- und Eisenhutten - Gewerkschaft. The line was: Terminal at Witkowitz Maxstrasse, Wilhelmstrasse, Grenzstrasse, Stahlwerk, Zabreh Epidemiespital, Schule, Ringplatz, Zabreh Sandgrube terminal. This little local steam tramway offered daily 20 departures from both terminals between 05.33 and 19.30. The journey time was 14 minutes.

There was also another local private 7.36 km Kleinbahn Schönbrunn - Königsberg line out from Witkowitz railway station. It served Schönbrunn-Witkowitz, Schönbrunn-Gemeinde, Ober Polanka and Königsberg in Moravia. The trains were hauled by two Ct-n2 tank locomotives, built by Staatseisenbahngesellschaft, Wien, generally known as StEG.
