Hello, I took the liberty of adding the sister cities for the town of Collingwood Ontario. My source was Wikipedia itself. Thank you for a great resource. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.251.133.64 (talk) 04:06, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Belleville, Ontario has a number of sister cities. This list needs to show that.

Port Alberni is paired with Abashiri, Hokkaidō. Can it be added, or is it too small?Warll (talk) 06:41, 1 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Minneapolis and winnipeg are no longer sister cities (don't know why, it's very weird) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jakreiser (talkcontribs) 17:21, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Richmond, BC - Qingdao, China keeps getting removed

[edit]

Our twin town Qingdao, China keeps getting removed so we tried to add a reference source for this city - https://www.richmond.ca/discover/about/sistercity/qingdao.htm

Any ideas on how we can notate that this is a twin town coming up to 14 years anniversary?

Hello! I wrote it twice in the edit summary so I write it for the third time here – it is a friendship city relationship, not a twinning/sister city relationship. The official list of Richmond's sister cities which is cited on the page, starts with this sentences: "The City of Richmond has established important ties and relationships with three Cities as part of the Sister City Program: Pierrefonds, Quebec; Wakayama, Japan; Xiamen, China. In addition, the City has signed a Friendship City Agreement with the following City: Qingdao, China." The source from the same website you cited also states: "The friendship city relationship between Richmond and Qingdao was established on April 21, 2008. ... The year 2018 marked the 10th anniversary of Richmond's Friendship relationship with Qingdao, China." It is definitely not twinning, but a lower form of relationship.
