Rewriting the article
[edit]As the article currently stands, it has over 300 sections (and it is far from complete - there are plenty of countries which are not covered). Some sections have long lists of countries, but many have only one or two countries listed. Therefore I believe that the list is too long and is not useful for the casual reader. I had nominated the article for deletion in 2016, but the result of the discussion was to keep it.
I propose rewriting the article from scratch, listing the types of revenues issued by country rather than the countries by type of revenues. For example:
- Malta
- Airport Charge (1975–88)
- Applications (1926, withdrawn 1928)
- Contracts (1926, withdrawn 1928)
- Excise
- Cigarettes (c.1930s–present)
- Alcohol (c.2008–present)
- Wine (2015–present)
- National Insurance (1956–76, withdrawn 1978)
- Passport (1933–69, withdrawn 1972)
- Registers (1926, withdrawn 1928)
- Revenue (1899–1956)
- Stocks & Shares (1926, withdrawn 1928)
- Workmen's Compensation (1929–53, replaced by National Insurance stamps 1956)
