Theological University of Wuppertal

[edit]

This is the literally translation of "Kirchliche Hochschule Wuppertal", but "Barmen School of Theologie" is the official name. [1]

Inclusion of Fachhochschulen

[edit]

I think that it might be advisable to include Fachhochschulen in this list. That said, the article should also probably renamed so that it better corresponds to the list in German, which is named with the more general term "Hochschulen," so that it provides a more comprehensive coverage of higher education in Germany.

I agree; one could theoretically start a List of tertiary education institutions in Germany which included Hochschulen but I think it would be more sensible to merge that with this list. However, the sheer number of the combined lists is probably why it hasn't been done this way. Icedwater (talk) 08:53, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why not including periodically shut down unis?

[edit]

In the part about the oldest universities it says: "Also, some universities were established in the 14th or 15th centuries, but shut down for longer periods and later re-opened [...]. These are not included in this list." Why not? Is there a good reason not to include these universities? The German article in Wikipedia does this.

Number of universities?

[edit]

The German Wikipedia page lists 144 Universities (including the church and private universities). Seems like half are missing - and these are not the Fachhochschulen. Shouldn't the names and data of the universities be set up as Wikidata information and then included in each site? --WiseWoman (talk) 14:32, 8 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How might I help with this? I want to compile a list including the Fachhochschulen as well. Icedwater (talk) 08:33, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
