This list is incomplete. I found a more comprehensive list on

http://www.webometrics.info/university_by_country.asp?country=id

Anyone interested to edit it? Budiaman (talk) 06:43, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a list

[edit]

According to the following criteria for Wikipedia English - at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:LISTS

there is a difference between what has happened here and what should happen at a legitimate list. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:NOT#DIR

As a consequence - there is a need for all editors trying to add material here understand

  1. Naming a university here means (a) 'an article exists about it using WP:RS, WP:N and WP:V guidelines as expected in English wikipedia
  1. No article linked to = no mention here
  1. No WP:RS, or items to help WP:V or WP:N in an article - no mention here
  1. A university name as a red link and a place name with a blue link does make a legitimate entry

As a consequence - if you find a university that you have added here has gone - please read carefully the guidelines above.

Thank you for your co-operation SatuSuro 13:04, 1 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why? that is a different project and most articles at the article you link to do not have WP:RS by English Wikipedia standards SatuSuro 05:12, 3 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

    • Similar as in sorted by province, alphabetized, and presumably having similar content. Universities that don't have pages simply can appear without a link. I can't see any information that they should be different, and some of the information here is just plain wrong. Nfitz (talk) 23:41, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Transfer of red links from the eastern java universities have just made this even more of a mess SatuSuro 06:56, 6 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This list is a cursed piece of junk

[edit]

Please would any editors who either revert or cleanup state their cases at the project page so we can nut out this horrible and idiotic list - it is everything wrong with WP Indonesia - ad hoc non systematic rubbish (selective and undue and unchecked against any official list) that is neither comprehensive or sufficiently laid out to be any use to anyone for any reason, red links that are externally linked - however...

If I am indeed wrong in my appraisal - and if this is not something that is what WP:NOT is all about - it needs to be explained out at the Project noticeboard please. thanks SatuSuro 13:54, 26 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect categorization of public and private universities

[edit]

There is many private university, in the category of public(state) university. This article need major improvement. anybody can help? _Annas_ 03:35, 17 December 2010 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Annas86 (talkcontribs)

Also, there is some duplication between the two sub-lists. De La Salle University (Indonesia) is in both, for example. Cleanup needed. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 11:32, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi people, I'm a newbie in WP, so help me out and point things for me, okay? I am currently working as an international education analyst for an international education agency. The shorter version is "database guy in that overseas agency" (lol). I am going to engage in that Major Improvement mentioned above for one hour everyday for in this week before moving to other articles. While I did study in Australia and USA, my English is still below excellent, so please, point it out for me. Cleanup

[edit]

There was a list of uncategorized institutions at the top of the article that I have relocated into a new 'Other' section at the bottom. I'm not sure it makes sense, but better there than at the top. It is possible that all the institutions listed there should be integrated elsewhere into the article. DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 18:42, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Scope?

[edit]

This article is entitled List of universities in Indonesia, but includes also polytechnics and colleges. Indonesia is a large, populous country. The most inclusive type of list like this would be very large. See for instance the List of Indonesian agricultural universities and colleges, in one sector only. It's not clear to me what the most appropriate scope for this article is, but I lean toward that suggested by the title, universities only. What other types of tertiary institutions should be included, if any? Thanks, DA Sonnenfeld (talk) 21:12, 28 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
