Somewhat concerned that "List of women in Female Biography" isn't the best name - list of subjects in Female Biography? or List of articles in Female Biography would be better? is "women" is inaccurate (because what's in the book is biographies of women, not women), and possibly too gender-specific. (I mean if we had a biographical work containing only men would it be "list of Men in Male Biography" or similar? Barney the barney barney (talk) 20:44, 29 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

+AND A FURTHER POINT - we don't have an article on the parent to this - Female Biography (yet). That article is needed to confirm the importance of this list. Whether that article itself can contain the list of subjects or the article gets to the length where a separate list is needed depends on the coverage available on the original work. Thoughts? Hi Barney -- I see your points on both counts above. I was unsure about the page title because it seemed way too long and clunky to use the whole proper title of the book, so I went for "natural" language instead. Perhaps it should be "subjects" instead of women though. The parent article was intended to be Mary Hays, which itself needs a LOT of work. I was going to link the list article to the Female Biography section of that page. Unless someone wants to write a whole article of course!

On another note: is it possible to link out to a French wiki from here? I keep getting an error when I try to add https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_de_La_Vigne .

Aragon, Joan of[edit]

I've been trying to wikilink some of the unlinked women - succeeded with Abassa, and Amalasenta just needed a redirect. But Joan of Aragon (listed as "1502-1575 / Italian / Queen regent" is a problem. Hays' article is online here.

Joan of Aragon redirects to Joanna of Castile (1479-1555), who was a queen, but of two parts of Spain, and has wrong dates.
Joanna of Aragon (disambiguation) offers ...

Giovanna d'Aragona (1502–1575) - dates right, Italian, but not a queen.

Hays has her Joan dying in October 1577.

The first of these, the queen, looks to be the target - but even so it looks as if Hays had her death date wrong. Any experts out there? PamD 17:31, 14 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
