Far out years

[edit]

Previously (in early 2009) years 2019 and 2020 were deleted due to WP:CRYSTAL, partly because of the distance in time and partly because of the quality of the list entries. I think it's reasonable to say that even a very official date given 10 years out is much more likely to change than not; however, should we have a formal policy for how far ahead it is reasonable to list things?

(A relevant example is the LIRR extension into Manhattan, pushed back from 2016 to 2019 over the last couple years; unlike many of the projects scheduled for completion in 2020+ it has begun construction)

Article format pre-1800

[edit]

Please note that per a discussion at WP:Trains, it was decided that dates before 1800 would be organized according to decade. If a certain year has significant content, it can be broken off into a separate article. See section 1767 in rail transport for the discussion. MountainRail (talk) 01:03, 29 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
