Notability and proposed deletion[edit]

User:Black Falcon has proposed that this page be deleted due to concerns about notability and a lack of sources. However, while I share the concern over the lack of attribution, I don't feel that the page should be deleted. As Black Falcon pointed out, it was originally split off from Order of precedence in England and Wales, and is in use there (and, I think, on Order of precedence in Northern Ireland and Order of precedence in Scotland). I do not agree with Black Falcon's statement that "[i]t is not wanted or needed there (or really anywhere else)", and I think that, at a minimum, the matter should be discussed with contributors to the UK order-of-precdence pages before any drastic action is taken. In accordance with this, I have removed the {{prod}} template from the page. Alkari (?) 22:58, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

OK. How about merging to List of Marquesses in the Peerages of the British Isles as a separate section? There's already a section there for eldest sons, so that seems the logical place for this list of younger sons. -- Black Falcon (Talk) 16:05, 14 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would be very much in favor of that, although I wouldn't mind waiting a few days to see how others feel about this matter. Alkari (?) 00:11, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Fine with me. I'll tag the pages with {{mergefrom}} and {{mergeto}} so that the proposed merge is more publicised. Cheers, Black Falcon (Talk) 02:12, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Done. Black Falcon (Talk) 00:50, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
