Move Lists of regional bird lists → Lists of regional birds[edit]

You might think this is "standard form", but this move is plain silly.

This is not a "list of ... birds". Not one single bird is mentioned anywhere in it. It is a list of lists. Revert please. --Glen Fergus 23:48, 20 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Grammatically speaking, "Lists of regional birds" means exactly the same as "List of regional bird lists". The former describes what is presented on the page: lists (which is exactly what those links are to). The latter names the page in terms of what is listed on it, which amounts to the same thing: lists of birds. The Transhumanist 02:04, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Grammatically speaking, they are not the same. In one case, it's the lists that are regional, in the other it's the birds. The latter meaning doesn't really make sense (what is a "regional bird"?). I agree with Eugène van der Pijlll Lists of regional birds is ambiguous. Alternatives : simplifing and expanding Lists of birds ; for the still specifc Lists of birds by region. (by is used in lists below) -- GameKeeper 08:23, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Controversial division into regions[edit]

Why would anyone divide each continents into even smaller regions. In many cases it's arbitrary and may lead to confusion (Spain is in Southwestern Europe)--131.251.253.64 (talk) 15:41, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
