– There are two aspects to this RM proposal. One is that I believe the proper name of the institution is "Parliament of Canada", not "Canadian Parliament". If "Canadian Parliament" is used, I think "Parliament" should be in lowercase, since "Canadian Parliament" is not the proper name of the institution. The second aspect is that MOS:TOPRESENT says the proper form of the final article's date range is to use "to present" or "–present", and says "Do not use incomplete-looking constructions such as 1982– and 1982–... ." There's also a bit of a question in my mind about "the". — BarrelProof (talk) 23:22, 4 October 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: I created these articles as a relative newbie so I am not opposing such a move. Borgenland (talk) 06:42, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- Support We would capitalise a formal name as a proper noun|name but varying the construction become a descriptive term - ie a common name. Cinderella157 (talk) 23:46, 5 October 2024 (UTC)
- A mixed bag here because both are correct (uppercase 'Canadian Parliament' is the proper form). Mixing casing into the nomination throws a needless point of contention into the discussion. Randy Kryn (talk) 00:37, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- "Parliament of Canada" seems more formally appropriate and appears to be historically more common in Ngrams than "Canadian Parliament". — BarrelProof (talk) 01:22, 6 October 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I made a wording mistake above (I meant that when the wording 'Canadian Parliament' is used it is uppercased but that 'Parliament of Canada' is as you describe and will Support that). Randy Kryn (talk) 12:03, 6 October 2024 (UTC)

- Support: Use the real name instead of an over-capitalized descriptive term. — SMcCandlish ☏ ¢ 😼 01:04, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
