How to write name in Japanese
[edit]On Google Translate, this is how you write "Shigeri Akabane" 茂赤羽 Varghoo (talk) 00:59, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Memories from Happy times
[edit]Just three phrase; all of witch i remember with affection, from a time blessed with Tokes presance. 1. Hey you; Get wood in. 2. Hey you; Carry Beer! 3. Me you; Same - Same. All of witch may only be varified through the friends and family of Tokyo. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Scott Logston (talk • contribs) 16:38, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
Spelling of name
[edit]Although this article was originally written with the spelling "Shigeri Akabane", Friends and family members have written to Wikimedia requesting a correction of the spelling of the name. (For OTRS agents: ticket:2016090710016201 ).
The complication is that two of the sources use a misspelled version of the name. Several sources use only his nickname.
Normally we want to see a preponderance of sources supporting the spelling, but the discussion with the family members persuaded me that the two sources with the original spelling are in error. They pointed me to an obituary with the correct spelling which I have added as a reference to the "retirement and death" section.
Another very useful observation is googling Shigeru brings up many hits, while googling Shigeri Brings up far fewer including an earlier version of this article, strongly suggesting that Shigeru is the preferred spelling.--S Philbrick(Talk) 12:31, 8 September 2016 (UTC)
