Potential "Did You Know?"[edit]

Thanks to the nice expansion by the anon editor, this article has potential to be a "Did You Know" link on the front page for 6 hours. To be ready for that, I think this article needs:

More references : there are plenty of facts in this article (e.g., geographic locations of features), but not that many inline citations. I think we should add more supporting references.
Better formatting: The use of {{-}}, while completely permitted, makes the article look unlike other WP articles, with extra white space. The images have unusual sizes, also.
Fewer photographs: Photographs are supposed to support the text. There are probably too many images: I can transwiki the excess to Commons.

I'm happy to edit the article to make it ready for DYK nomination: I just wanted to let other editors know what I was thinking of. —hike395 (talk) 03:54, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
