QUESTIONS[edit]

Question: The article has sections on the Byzantine Rite, Coptic Rite, and Armenian Rite. Should there be a separate section on the West Syrian version of the liturgy of St Basil used by Melkite Antiochian (Greek Orthodox patriarchate of Antioch) churches? Or is this considered merely a translation of the Byzantine Liturgy of St Basil? Tedcampbell (talk) 14:31, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Melkite usage is simply the Byzantine Rite, as stated in the opening sentence of Melkite. It has its own musical traditions and traditionally has used, in part, Arabic as well as the original Greek, but is still the same text and order as anywhere else the Byzantine Rite is used; it does not differ in any way at all as do the Coptic or Armenian liturgies in this article.
