24 hour distance record

[edit]

It’s hard to believe riding in circles around Germany is really encyclopedic. Could we get more information on the nature of this claimed record? Was there an official or volunteer sanctioning body maintaining a list of record-holders? It smells like something Harley wanted to be called a record. ☆ Bri (talk) 14:04, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Harley UK site quotes 251kg for the bike in running order. The 210kg quoted in the infobox is from an article published in 2014 about the concept bike. 109.144.208.152 (talk) 09:00, 15 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The current Further reading section

[edit]

Good faith edits by a possible new editor added many citations to a Notes section. All those citations were not "notes" in the traditional sense of an article. The editor either A. thought that is where citations were to go instead of placing them directly in the article at the appropriate reference or B. wanted to include additional information on the topic and instead of using the Further reading section added them to a Notes section or C. wanted to include some additional external links. Since the citations did not fit in a Notes section, the Notes section was removed and the information was added to the Further reading section which is quite lengthy now. If these are indeed citations that should be in the References section, then each citation will need to be reviewed and added to the appropriate area in the article in the appropriate format. This appears to be the most likely scenario of what the original editor intended and work will need to be done to integrate the sources into the article will be needed.
