[edit]I would beg to differ regarding "lack of notability". With all due respect, there are hundreds, even thousands, of athletes that people have no knowledge. Many Olympians are examples, but their accomplishments are notable. Liz Gorman is the top player in the LFL, a professional league that celebrates athleticism and beauty. It certainly deserves to be considered on the same level as Arena Football, a similar league, but for men. After all, there is a Wikipedia page for the Lingerie Football Leage.
Now, as for being able to verify information in the article, I would love help understanding how to do it.
- Removed Prod I found many articles on the subject after a quick web search, and the subject seems to pass WP:NSPORTS. The article may still go through WP:AFD and I think a discussion could be warranted, but I think it could be handled here on the talk page instead just as easily.--Paul McDonald (talk) 13:38, 11 July 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Paul. Yes, I am aware of what the LFL is, but LFL players definitely do not pass WP:NSPORTS. Read the section on American/Canadian football and you will see there is deliberately no mention of the LFL. As such, LFL players must meet the general notability guideline to be notable. The sources currently in the article do not show this and I had a look for sources but could not find anything that I would consider to be "significant coverage in independent reliable sources". Could you please show some sources that you think are significant coverage? Jenks24 (talk) 10:41, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
- Didn't mean to speak inappropriately... of course you know LFL! And WP:NSPORTS is always changing. I think I was remembering an older version... but that said, there's about 70,000 google hits for her topic. Granted, a lot of them are fan sites and some are for a politician of the same name, but many are for sports columns.--Paul McDonald (talk) 12:01, 12 July 2012 (UTC)
