Llandegveth → Llandegfedd – Llandegfedd has been the most prevalent form in English-language sources since the 1950s according to this ngram. Ham II (talk) 10:59, 29 December 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose: Ordnance Survey, Google Maps, OpenStreetMap and Bing Maps all call the village Llandegveth. YorkshireExpat (talk) 13:01, 29 December 2023 (UTC)

- Weak oppose, more decisive evidence is needed, "Llandegfedd" is used for the lake/reservoir, and ngrams may possibly include that (one of the spikes is around the reservoir's opening), simply searching "Llandegfedd" gives more results for the reservoir than the village. The South Wales Angus can't even decide which one to use.[1][2] So makes sense to retain the signposted name (and O.S.) name with no clear common name. Ofc, the WLC, recommends Llandegfedd so the council could change signposts in the future to match it, but so far hasn't. DankJae 11:43, 30 December 2023 (UTC)

- @Martinevans123:; Well Google caught it in April and it has been there since 2011. The sign is unusual because it also adds "village" which may indicate drivers were confusing it with the reservoir? Or were going to the reservoir when they needed the village. And I guess the council decided four lines of text, Pentref Llandegfedd Llandegveth village was too much for a place barely signposted at all (I totally did not spend a few minutes searching for roadsigns) Someone probably raised a complaint with the WLC, so hopefully addressed now, but probably not. - Yes, the village nearest the reservoir is Coed-y-paen. To get to Llandegveth, you need to take the Tre-Herbert Road, past the Crem. Trouble is, now that everyone has slowed down, the sign is just more noticeable! Martinevans123 (talk) 22:15, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

- Back onto my comment, when adding the reservoir to ngrams, it shows the reservoir has a lot of use itself, possibly leading to the inflation of "Llandegfedd" so needs more specific evidence showing the Welsh name is used for just the village over Llandegveth. ("Llandegveth reservoir" showed no results on ngrams) DankJae 22:08, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
