Definitely a good article. Atropos 02:50, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to review the article. However, I find the three-into-one merged tables rather confusing, and think the information would be more clearly presented in three separate tables. In particular, the information in the first column ("film", "television" and "theatre") doesn't correspond properly with information in the second column (dates) – some entries currently fall between two categories, which is clearly wrong. I suggest that the change be reverted. Is that all right with you? Cheers, Jacklee 08:36, 28 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This table is more like other actors' tables, such as Daniel Radcliffe. I prefer it as it is much neater, and don't think its at all confusing. Also, there's nothing factually wrong with it, of course the years don't line up with the medium because Lloyd Owen performed in multiple mediums in the same year. The entries themselves line up perfectly. Though the citation might not be necessary, a claim refering to "first love" sounds like poetic license on the editor's part, so its somewhat important that he says it himself. Certainly you can agree that there's nothing wrong with the citation. Atropos 00:23, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I had another look at the merged table, and understand better how it works. Maybe it would be better to swap the "Year(s) of appearance" and "Medium" columns around: will work on that when I have time. I still think it's a bit confusing, though. It may also be slightly more difficult for people who are not familiar with Wikitext to update. Regarding the citation, my point is not that the fact should not be supported with a citation, but that it's not necessary to have a citation in the introductory paragraph as the fact in question is already referenced in the main body of the article (the footnote comes later on in the paragraph after "... Peter Gill in 2002" as the material before the footnote is all from the same source). Cheers, Jacklee 03:51, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Reassessment

[edit]
This discussion is transcluded from Talk:Lloyd Owen/GA1. The edit link for this section can be used to add comments to the reassessment.

As part of Wikipedia:WikiProject Good articles' Project quality task force ("GA Sweeps"), all old good articles are being re-reviewed to ensure that they meet current good article criteria (as detailed at WP:WIAGA.) I have determined that this article needs some work to meet current criteria, outlined below:

  • The article, judging from the history, is outdated; for example "His most recent role was as Peter in Paul (2005)."
  • Unsourced statements:
    • "At Highgate he took the lead in a notable production of The Roses of Eyam by Don Taylor which was directed by Philip Swan and also starred Tamsin Greig and Aubrey Nunn of Faithless."
    • "Owen's film career has included appearances in short films, and supporting roles in The Republic of Love (2003) (as Peter), which was based on a novel by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Carol Shields, and in Miss Potter (2006) (as a solicitor named William Heelis who married children's author Beatrix Potter)."
  • A paragraph requires at least three sentences; therefor the one or two-sentence groups need to be cut, merged, or expanded.
  • What makes [1], [2] (404) and [3] reliable?

I am putting the article on hold for seven days pending improvements to the above. Keep me posted on this page. Thanks, Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 17:25, 24 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As no progress has been made towards improving the article in the time alotted, I am delisting. You may renominate at WP:GAN any time, but I strongly encourage upkeep towards the above. Direct any further comments to my talk page. Thanks, Der Wohltemperierte Fuchs(talk) 16:02, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, I started on it but got busy and didn't have a chance to complete the work. Will renominate after I've finished. Thanks. — Cheers, JackLee talk 17:10, 1 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
