The Jewel Box[edit]

A couple of points here:

First, I'm not clear why Bampton Classical Opera figures so largely in the paragraph on the above. It was first performed by Opera North in 1991, as explained in the depths of Bampton's site at the bottom of this page.
Second, I wonder whether Griffiths's sort-of pasticcio deserves its own article? I have a feeling that it has been performed somewhere in the USA as well. Maybe there should be an article on Griffiths himself, too?

I've added the Opera North 1991 premiere performance. The reason the Bampton one seems prominent is that the paragraph was about the Mozart 250th anniversary perfs. Re your second point, I'd say both Griffths and The Jewel Box deserve articles. Apart from the UK perfs, it also toured America. I've found several reviews and articles about it. Good stuff. I've added a bit to it. I'll get on to The Jewel Box (not to be confused with The Jewel Box!) tomorrow. No, I have no problem with describing The Jewel Box as a pasticcio - the problem is that the WP article says "In opera and music it refers to a work by a group of different composers (who may or may not have been working together), or an adaptation or localization of an existing work that is loose, unauthorized, or inauthentic." --GuillaumeTell 10:38, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
