[edit]When I made my edit, it was purely to correct the mistakes of the poor English in the article. Many Wikipedia articles written in English, that stem out of Eastern Europe, have grammatical errors (not just Eastern Europe). I try to correct them when I can. One of the most common mistakes is not using English language "articles" e.g., the, a. The Wikipedia article states the Lobnoye Mesto was not a place where executions normally took place. It states that Stenka Razin was executed there (quartered), hence this is an EXCEPTION, which is more accurate than calling it an INSTANCE. If you check with someone who has a "good" command of the English language, you will see that I am right. I hope that you will revert my original edit back to its correct form.
- So in answer to your question. Stenka Razin was executed on Lobnoye Mesto.
- If some of the editors (whose English is not as good as they think), want to leave these articles in error, fine because it becomes tedious to make these corrections over and over. Even though it "cheapens" Wikipedia to leave the mistakes in , it's too time consuming to bother to correct them after one or two tries. P.S. I hope I have not confused you with the two forms of the word ARTICLE mentioned above. One use, refers to an article, like a newspaper article or a Wikipedia article. The other use is a part of speech in the English Language, an article like "the" and "a". Dr. Dan 02:22, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
Decided to make the RV myself to hopefully save others the time. Dr. Dan 02:45, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
- Dr. Dan, Razin was NOT executed there. Nobody was, no exceptions.
- Thanks for your English lesson though :) Azov 08:08, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
Your welcome, and I agree with your removal of the line (if Razin's execution did not take place there). Dr. Dan 16:59, 17 December 2005 (UTC)
Unfinished business
[edit]Ten years later, Stepan Razin says "Stepan was tortured then quartered alive at Lobnoye Mesto." Sca (talk) 16:54, 6 September 2015 (UTC)
