Anonymous deletions[edit]

In late October 2008, unidentified person(s) have removed huge portions of this article. I am not an expert, but it doesn't seem logical to me that someone or group of people simply delete huge portions of an extensive article without identifying themselves or mentioning any reasons. The text now left on the page is so unintelligable I can't make anything of it. It starts as "Point-to-point systems are also capable of using the LMDS frequencies and can reach slightly farther distances due to increased antenna gain." But LMDS is not even discussed, and how can it start with "also"... Or "LMDS showed great are already reached by at least one broadband technology -- generally either DSL or cable internet" ... The whole sentence is now meaningless... Still I leave it to a "technology expert" to check the old material and Undo the majour deletions made, to my mind, very arbitrarily werldwayd (talk) 00:05, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Business as usual. Wikipedia allows anonymous editing, and most vandalism is anonymous and unsummarized, hence WP:WATCHLIST is an important and often effective safeguard. Alas, with 3880 articles on my watchlist, sometimes I fail to watch when someone vandalizes one of them. I can only recommend that more editors watch their watchlist.
