Daimler/Mercedes connection?

The section about the Model 48 says that the cylinders were cast in pairs. This is a well-known Daimler configuration, and I would imagine that some sort of manufacturing licence was involved. I found a couple of vague connections: this book says that (among others) Locomobile "based their 1904-5 models on Mercedes' patterns." Mercedes was a trademark of Daimler. A review of the 1915 Locomobile four-ton chassis says that the engine's three-point suspension system was also used by Daimler. Anyone have any more information? >MinorProphet (talk) 08:07, 4 July 2016 (UTC)
