Alternate jersey[edit]

Removing reference to the Cards as not ever wearing an alt - they wore one on Labor Day 1999[1]. That leaves the Yanks as the only team not to do so. SixFourThree (talk) 20:22, 27 May 2009 (UTC)SixFourThree[reply]

That was a one-time event, and the reference you cite even indicates that it was a charity event. The fact is, the Cardinals do not have a 3rd jersey, and never have--a one-time charity event jersey isn't a 3rd or alt jersey in any sense of the word. Purpose[edit]

I can't seem to think of the purpose this article serves outside of the New York Yankees article. Having it's own article seems a bit excessive, especially when you look at the article itself. When you boil it down it become nothing more than original research with a few trivial references thrown in. --Brian Halvorsen (talk) 09:20, 1 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Summary style, as putting the entire contents of this article in the main Yankees article would give it undue weight.oknazevad (talk) 19:48, 10 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The Armband[edit]

I'm pretty sure that the Yankees had the extra black armband on the left bicep year in and year out for most of the 1990s and maybe longer. Now, given all of their legends, it may have just stayed there to honor one different departed hero after another, but it really seemed to be a permanent part of the uniform. Does anyone else remember this? Is there an explanation? WHPratt (talk) 14:35, 30 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Mixed up dates...[edit]

This sentence doesn't make sense: "This logo first appeared there in 1912, and, after disappearing in 1909, returned for good in 1936,..." If the logo first appeared in 1912, it wasn't there to disappear in 1909. There is a typo in the dates. I presume 1912 is correct since the Yankees used just that logo for the Fenway centennial. So is it 1919? 1929? or something else? JMOprof (talk) 15:48, 21 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

September 11 FDNY and NYPD caps[edit]

I think there should be a mention of the NYPD and FDNY caps worn after the September 11 attacks. There are mentions of patches and armbands worn in remembrance of players, this would seem to fit in with the nature of this article. I don't remember how long they wore them, I know for the remainder of 2001, but I don't remember if it went into 2002. I know a lot of teams also wore a ribbon or flag patch. I also don't recall if the Mets wore the caps. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeremykshort (talkcontribs) 00:43, 25 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Spring training uniforms?[edit]

I was wondering if it would be helpful to include a section about their Spring Training uniforms? I know they had used their regular uniforms up until the late 90s-early 00s, and then they decided to implement its own uniform. I thought it could add substance too considering how little the variety of Yankee uniforms are. 69.248.87.62 (talk) 04:48, 24 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
