"Friggason"

Does the adoptive name "Loki Friggason" has ever been stated in the MCU or is it an OR? Redjedi23 (talk) 09:07, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Redjedi23: It does not (that I have ever heard), and it would not in accordance with the Scandinavian naming customs from which these surnames are derived. Males are surnamed for their fathers and daughters are surnamed for their mothers (so Sylvie might have been denoted as Loki Friggasdóttir, though this was never shown to be the case in the MCU). However, the main timeline Loki, despite his shapeshifting abilities covering all genders, has always been identified as a male character. BD2412 T 19:14, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Not really that relevant to Marvel-Loki, but that's not how names worked in Scandinavia. Back before the modern practice of surnames caught on people didn't have surnames at all, with the exception of some nobles. Patronyms were often used in written sources, and matronyms only in truly exceptional circumstances. The gender of the child wasn't relevant for whose name to use. The most famous case involving a matronym is of course the mythical Loki, named Laufeyjarson after his mother. CoreGoon (talk) 01:42, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

And was ever stated the surname of Sylvie? If is not, we should remove both “Loki Friggason” and “Sylvie Laufeydottir” (it should be an OR). Redjedi23 (talk) 19:28, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed "Loki Friggason" from the article. I don't see any instance of "Laufeydottir". BD2412 T 23:27, 21 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Nevermind, in the official Marvel website (that redirects me to a blank page for some reason) she is called “Sylvie Laufeydottir”. Redjedi23 (talk) 09:55, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
There was consensus when Loki came out to include "Laufeydottir". InfiniteNexus (talk) 18:27, 22 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:FREER, the image of the article should be the one of Tom Hiddleston at the San Diego Comic-Con, which is also illustrative of the character. Redjedi23 (talk) 21:26, 24 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You're correct. @Bmona12, please do not attempt to re-add the non-free file. InfiniteNexus (talk) 04:34, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Edit notice

I have changed god of stories to Avenger Prime Loki with refs:[1][2]

Avenger prime loki wardrobe, lifestyle, powers, solitude, sacrifice for multiveree, environment resemble 2012 variant. The loki god of stories is a way other godly character, just floated into media as loki is supreme in mcu and God of Stories (GOS) in mcu. If loki was GOS, he would be a mouth dictator. He will just say our loki is non existent, it will happen. God of Stories doesn't have to hold multiverse and can move freely like he who remains roaming in citadel at the end of time, guys. 122.187.144.98 (talk) 04:27, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Random YouTube channels aren't good refs to use. You need to find reliable sites saying what you're saying to add the info. ZooBlazer 04:33, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Second infobox

Should there be a separate infobox for the 2012 Loki similar to how Star-Lord T'Challa has his own on the T'Challa article? ZooBlazer 18:27, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I would remove the second infobox from the T'Challa article to be honest Redjedi23 (talk) 19:29, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
