Can't remember the name of Dain's successor... could someone fill that in please? --Timo 14:35, Mar 14, 2004 (UTC)

Doing so. — Jor (Darkelf) 14:39, 14 Mar 2004 (UTC)
Good edits, good information :) --Timo 14:49, Mar 14, 2004 (UTC)
Bard... did he become king of lake town, or the dale? Isn't Esgeroth the same thing though? Could someone clear this up a bit, I'm a little confused about it
Corrected. Ausir 19:03, 5 Apr 2004 (UTC)

This part of the text is incorrect and invalid: "Smaug came from the mountains as a young dragon", Smaug was in fact one of the last great fire drakes, though it is not for certain, it is still thought that he was bred in the First Age, presumably at Angband. In essence it is not appropriate in any case to refer to Smaug as a young dragon at the time of Smaug's assault on Erebor. I shall therefore remove the offending text. Any arguments? --Lord Spade 23:59, 1 December 2005 (UTC)

Hey is Erebor really the same as the lonely mountain?

Irrelevant Information

This article contains information about a Lord of the Rings Real-Time Strategy game, which has nothing to do with the subject of the article but with a level in the game, and as we all know Wikipedia isn't a game guide. Shouldn't that be removed? David3001 01:35, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

I have now removed it. David3001 01:38, 14 February 2007 (UTC)

Erebor/The lonely Mountain

Copied from my user talk page. De728631 (talk) 13:45, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

This article is about the mountain, not the game.

Although I agree that adaptations are important, I believe it is both innapropriate and irrelevant to give so much detail about the game in this case. This page is about the lonely mountain, and while some explanation is necassary, a complete manifesto of the rules of the whole game makes that section not relevant to the article. Surely just a quick explanation of the game is enough, not a large paragraph? If it is that important, why not make a whole new page about the game?

We have recently had a lot of articles on Middle-earth locations merged into either lists or more general articles because many of them are in fact not important enough to warrant a standalone article. So the combination of the fictional place "Erebor" and its real world adaption works quite well providing an inclusive article. Likewise, the game itself would rather be a stub if extracted as a separate article, so let's just keep it as is. De728631 (talk) 13:45, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Edit: I have removed the game rules etc., those were really not needed. De728631 (talk) 13:52, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Restored info

I restored the sections that were lost when someone vandalized the page but I couldn't figure out how to copy over the citations. Someone may have to figure this out or add new ones. Rajah1 (talk) 22:01, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Erebor or Lonely Mountain?

Not quite sure which one should have precedence- Tolkien refers to both just about equally. Lythronaxargestes (talk) 17:58, 3 June 2014 (UTC)

Deletion

It's only the most well-known place in Middle-earth: the focus of the Dwarves' quest throughout The Hobbit. Why delete this article? --Uncle Ed (talk) 16:39, 9 December 2019 (UTC)
