What about Vieux-Longueuil?

[edit]

There needs to be a distinction between Longueuil the agglomeration, Vieux-Longueuil which is a borough of Longueuil the city. Jsmaster24 01:12, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good idea, you may add a section to the article if you have a moment.dr.ef.tymac 04:31, 10 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Should Longueuil redirect to Longueuil the agglomeration or Longueuil the city (as it is right now)? Also, some parts of the article must have been written pre-2006 (pre-demerger) so, for instance, items like the Champlain Bridge don't belong on a page about Longueuil the city but rather Longueuil the agglomeration (since the Champlain Bridge is located in Brossard). I'm not sure if a section in this article or an entirely new article is appropriate. Jsmaster24 12:06, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Longueuil logo.png

[edit]

Image:Longueuil logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Rename page

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was move.

Rename: Longueuil, QuebecLongueuil Per WP:CANSTYLE and WP:PRIMARYUSAGE, this city should have an article at the undisambiguated name (see also WP:CANCITY). An internet search which excludes various combinations of this city's name still produces results exclusively related to it. Mindmatrix 15:16, 7 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Missing information

[edit]

Someone please help me add information about Longueuil. This article is quite choppy right now and could really use any useful information you may have. MTLskyline (talk) 22:39, 6 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merging (Boroughs of Longueuil article)

[edit]

I strongly suggest that the content of the article Boroughs of Longueuil being transfered into the Longueuil page.

The Boroughs of Longueuil page is a total waste. We don't need an article just to say that they are three boroughs in Longueuil. Most of the info in Boroughs of Longueuil is already available in full on the Longueuil article or other releated pages. The only original content to the Boroughs of Longueuil article is the Powers sub-section. But this section would fit better in the Longueuil article anyway.

I say merge into Longueuil, Quebec.

Sounds good to me. The only real reason I created it back in 2007 was because Montreal had its own version. --MTLskyline (talk) 21:48, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
True. But Montreal has 19 boroughs, not 3. But even the Boroughs of Montreal is a waste of page which could easily be integrated in another article.Farine (talk) 23:03, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Longueuil

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Longueuil's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "cp2016":

  • From Montreal: "Longueuil (Code 2466023) Census Profile". 2016 census. Government of Canada - Statistics Canada.
  • From Chambly, Quebec: Statistics Canada, 2016 Census of Population

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 05:19, 16 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
