Proposed merger (March 2020)[edit]
The proposal to merge this to Lui (surname) seems like it will generate more confusion than enlightenment. There are multiple Chinese surnames with vaguely similar spellings (Lui, Louie, Looi, etc.), and multiple Dutch surnames with vaguely similar spellings (Looy, Looij, etc.); neither are related to the other. Better just to leave this page for listing people who use the exact spelling Looi, regardless of origin; the "See also" section can handle similar spellings. 59.149.124.29 (talk) 13:47, 2 April 2020 (UTC)
