Two templates added.[edit]

Gemology and Jewelry and Fashion templates clearly relevant, but I avoided adding class and importance until the rescue/deletion decision is reached. With 19 inline citations and a lot of detail, clearly much more than a stub. --DThomsen8 (talk) 12:02, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

8/4/2017 Changes to be updated.[edit]

Hello, I am asking that the first section of Biography and background be removed as it is not correct. The information is a gathering of random sentences and phrases from articles that do not flow or correlate. Such as the first initial sentence "Schwartz was raised in a Jewish family in Israel" with a cited source |"I grew up in Israel [and] did not know what prejudice was until I moved to the U.S." Yet, nothing in this citation states Jewish or family. Therefore the mash up of random sentences throughout the entire page is inaccurate. If at least the first sentence could be removed that would be excellent. I am a representative from Lorraine Schwartz that is viewing information that is not true, therefore to retain the integrity and accuracy of wikipedia we would like it removed. Though yes, there are sources cited, they aren't necessarily from credible places. Thank you. Wikieditor3567 (talk) 15:03, 4 August 2017 (UTC)

@Wikieditor3567: To say that the information is incorrect is a stretch. There are facts within the section that are correct, and other facts that are improper extrapolations of the presented facts. I propose the following alternative formulation of this paragraph: WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:59, 4 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Schwartz was raised in Israel,[1] and came to New York as the third generation of her family to enter the jewelry business.[2] Schwartz began dealing diamonds in 1989,[3] eventually forming her own company, Lorraine Schwartz Diamonds & Fine Jewelry.[4]

I am confused as to why you are advocating for this so hard. I am a representative from Lorraine Schwartz who is accurately updating the information that is gathered from random articles. To state that Lorraine was raised in Israel is uninformative. The quote is simple out of context from an article that is not a credible source. Lorraine may have spent time in Israel, but to say she was raised there is inaccurate. It has no legitimacy or connection. Yes Lorraine is a third generation diamond dealer but she did not come to New York solely to do that. Therefore your information is false. How about this?

"Lorraine Schwartz is a world renowned jewelry designer, known for her contemporary, trend setting creations. She began her career as a third generation diamond dealer, where she developed a keen eye for quality and clarity. As the granddaughter of one of the world's leading diamond manufacturers, she learned early on about the intricate aspects of the gemstone and fine jewelry business."

This is accurate and informative information that actually can be stated using your same sources, but without any small fabrications or add random add on. It would be great if you could update the information. Thank you. Wikieditor3567 (talk) 16:19, 4 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, your information also does not follow the guidlines about living persons. I quote wikipedia "This article must adhere to the biographies of living persons policy, even if it is not a biography, because it contains material about living persons. Take extra care to use high-quality sources. Material about living persons should not be added when the only sourcing is tabloid journalism." All sources included are technically online tabloids and not high quality sources. Please allow the edits to the page. Wikieditor3567 (talk) 17:19, 4 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Wikieditor3567: I'm sorry. Your proposed version of the paragraph is entirely too promotional. For now, I'll agree with you that the information is too wildly extrapolated from its sources, and agree to delete the entire background section. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:01, 6 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
