He also penned the saying: "Make Love, Not War!"

[edit]

He first said, "Make Love, Not War." This was in the mid/late 60's in NYC, outside his storefront. When a reporter was interviewing him about his Luv Ins and thought about running for president. That was his philosophy. He said if people practiced that, they'd be too tired for war! The small crowd gathered all laughed, I along with them. Then, the reporter asked, "Who said that? Who said, Make Love, Not War?" Abolofia simply replied... "You heard me first, I said it!"

I never forgot that day, that phrase or Louis Abolofia. He was an amazing American, and quite a character in my life. Karen Pellegrino 66.153.170.79 (talk) 22:21, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
