Patronage of the arts?[edit]

It might be worth mentioning her patronage of the arts? There is a collection of pieces for dessus de viole and pardessus de viole by Thomas Marc, called Suitte de pieces de dessus et de pardessus de viole et trois Sonates, avec les Basses Continüe (Paris, 1724). Not only is Louise Adélaïde (referred to as Madameoiselle de la Roche-Sur-Yon) the dedicatee, she is also referred to as one of Marc's pupils of the pardessus de viole, making her the first documented player of that instrument. The instrument was relatively unknown at the time of publication, peaking in popularity around 1750 and dying by the end of the century.Jakeybean (talk) 01:55, 4 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
