Is it the time to disambig?

[edit]

I wonder if the trademark litigation has ended yet-- but Supervalu has openly talking aout what thy're going to do with Lucky[1]. I would add this to the article, but I wonder in the near future should we disambig this into the "old" (pre-1999) and the "new" (2006-) Lucky. --Samuel Curtis-- TALK 11:13, 12 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for updating this! I was oblivious to the fact they had already opened in N. Las Vegas. Both stores are in undesirable areas... Uforik 07:37, 13 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think the Lucky Supermarket brand is returning

[edit]

Sav-Mart bought all of the Albertsons in Northern California. They are going to turn some of them into Lucky's. Part of the deal is that they bought the Lucky Supermarket name too. Albertson's will stay the same in Southern California but in Northern California the stores will be turned into either Sav-Mart or Lucky's. I just talked to a store manager in N. California and he thinks the one he works at will be a Lucky's. Ruth E 02:58, 28 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I was told the same thing by two Albertson's employees. They say the Lucky name will return in a matter of days. MrEricSir 06:31, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

9/20/07 - tomorrow the Santa Rosa Albertson's on Mendocino Avenue will be turned into Lucky's. I just got back from there. I was given a flyer that said LUCKY on it. Their Santa Rosa store will be open at 6:00 am as Lucky's tomorrow morning (9/21/07), and closing time will be the same as usual - midnight. Ruth E 22:54, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally,it appears that Save Mart is also using the Lucky name on former Albertsons locations in the Reno-Truckee metro(according to the store locator) though Save Mart is using its own name for the Sacramento Valley locations... Ranma9617 01:27, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lucky Brands - are they returning?

[edit]

My all time favorite ice cream was Lucky's "Black Forest". That flavor (and most other Lucky flavors) was discontinued when Albertsons took over.

Now that Lucky is back, is there any possibility I'll be able to buy my favorite ice cream once again?

Call Supervalu in S. California's hq or in N. CA it would be Save Mart as they are both owning Lucky supermarket brand now. Ruth E 22:56, 20 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Lucky logo.PNG

[edit]

Image:Lucky logo.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Lucky's

[edit]

We call Lucky "Lucky's". Does anyone else do this? 67.188.172.165 05:06, 14 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I do, most people I know call it Lucky's, rather than Lucky. I think it might have something to do with the commercials we all grew up with that always referred to it as "Lucky's", rather than "Lucky" Ruth E 08:55, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I'm fairly sure that stores were named "Lucky's" and had signs that read "Lucky's" before their acquisition by Albertsons. I know the brand-name products sold at "Lucky's" were always sold under the "Lucky" name. --67.188.141.242 22:57, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The signs said "Lucky" for as long as they had a store here, but we all said Lucky's. People called Thrifty Drug Store "Thrifty's" and J.C. Penney "Penney's" too.99.146.221.237 (talk) 23:57, 26 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Expanded Italian Foods section

[edit]

My local Lucky's opened and while Save Mart owned Albertsons I noticed that they expanded the Italian foods section a lot. I'm hoping it gets even better. I know the people that own Lucky's in Northern California are Italian, and it's been great. Expanding it even more would be better - ie, if they added gnocci, etc. Ruth E 08:55, 25 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: not merged - This has been open for 2 years with hardly any discussion, Seems after 2 years no one wants it merged. –Davey2010(talk) 15:03, 28 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I propose that Yellow Front Stores be merged into Lucky Stores. I think that the content in the Yellow Front Stores article can easily be explained in the context of Lucky Stores, and the Yellow Front Stores article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Lucky Stores will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. Additionally, the Yellow Front Stores article has been unsourced for 6 years and I have been unable to locate substantial coverage in independent reliable sources. - SummerPhD (talk) 01:19, 27 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is not a vote. Do you have a policy/guideline based reason for keeping this separate? - SummerPhD (talk) 17:54, 19 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Here's a reason not to merge them. Yellow Front existed for quite a long time as its own entity before being owned very briefly by Lucky. Lucky didn't even have long enough to exert any influence over Yellow Front before selling it off to Kenmare Brands. It would be like merging any articles about McAfee into Intel because Intel bought them a couple years ago. Doesn't really make sense IMO. Cernansky (talk) 16:41, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Logos

[edit]

Has anyone noticed that the logo used by the Albertson-owned stores in Utah (white letters inside a red oval) is different from the one used by the Save Mart-owned stores in California (red letters on a white background)? The article only displays the logo used by the Save Mart-owned stores and not the logo used by the Albertson-owned stores.

We need to include the logo that is used by the Albertson-owned stores in Utah. 96.82.59.129 (talk) 17:39, 7 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
