Lundi Gras was celebrated on Feb 16, 1885 in a Minneapolis home, by the French Canadians as a revival of "good old times" presumably as in Quebec. A specific reference was in the 18 February, 1885 issue of the local French language newspaper Echo de l'Ouest, which is in the records of the Minnesota Genealogical Society. The article reads in part: "on y a celebre le lundi gras a la canadienne, comme le bon vieux temps, jadis." A copy of the article can be sent. W Horn
