Year of birth[edit]

This article says she was born on July 27, 1910. The IMDb has the same date, but instead gives the year as 1911. Is there anybody who knows and can give a source for which one is correct? /Ludde23 Talk Contrib 22:09, 27 February 2010 (UTC) According to the interview when she was 100, she was born 1910, and Fox Studious put the date up to 1911 because she looked so young.[reply]

Paul Kohner[edit]

Mr. Kohner was producer on the Spanish language version of Dracula. Do you really think Mrs. Tovar met him first in Paris about a year later? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.115.51.60 (talk) 16:06, 3 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

silent films[edit]

Several sources give "The Veiled Woman", released in 1929, filmed in 1928, as her first film. Normally listed as released in silent and full dialog versions. But the filmographies of her more famous co-star, Bela Lugosi, give his /next/ film as his first talky, and note that even it had limited dialog, with intercut text screens.

Also it is known that she worked on silent sets. And it's unlikely that she went from zero working experience to major role in her first film. Together these suggest that she also had appearances in silent films before her first known credit.

Ethnicity?[edit]

She look awfully white to be Mexican. Anyone know her racial ancestry? It says her mother was Mexican-Irish... is that White Mexican (as in European immigrant/descendants) or is that true "Red" Mexican (as in Native)? Same questions for her father. I don't see any native blood there in her features. So her father must have been very pale too. If both parents were Spaniards and first gen Mexicans, then she's only Mexican in paper, not by ethnicity. Would be nice to know, as there's a lot of confusion when searching for some Hollywood actor's race/ethnicity and Google just answers with "American", which is nationality. As a result, Millennials can't seem to understand the difference between the two. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.178.137.210 (talk) 14:55, 30 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
