In 1936 the Lyceum was used to show the premiere of the movie film "THE GANG SHOW" it was produced by the director Herbert Wilcox and starred Ralph Reader (Founder & Creator of the famous Scout Gang Shows) also Stuart Robertson and Gina Malo plus 150 Boy Scouts from the original Scala Theatre London stage shows. Link
I removed the link to the theatre itself - it's just a parking page.

Genesis info
Is the Genesis info notable? Is it accurate? Properly referenced? -- Ssilvers (talk) 04:05, 10 May 2008 (UTC)
Infobox
The infobox projects so far into the body of the article that, on my screen at any rate, it mucks up the layout quite badly. Is the box needed? If so, can it be pruned? Tim riley (talk) 11:03, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- It seems like infoboxes are standard in articles about theatres. I moved the images around - does that help at all? Can anyone compress the info in the infobox so that there is not so much white space between lines of text? ALSO, what about the last image at the bottom of the article? It doesn't look like anything to me, and I suggest deleting it. Does anyone agree? -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:00, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- Good. That does the trick. I no longer have [edit] [edit] [edit] in the middle of one paragraph. The last image is, as far as my ageing eyes can detect, a red cabbage – possibly the vegetarian option at the Beefsteak Club, which used to meet at the Lyceum. Tim riley (talk) 21:08, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
- OK, I'll remove the image. It seems too blurry to be useful. -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:21, 7 December 2010 (UTC)
1972-1986
The Lyceum ballroom was a major rock venue in London. I personally saw bands there such as Joy Division, Bauhaus, Bob Marley, Black Uhuru and many others. The venue typically hosted such bands before they reached superstar status. I am not qualified to write about this era. Nevertheless, as a center of rock music at a time when London was the heart of rock and new wave, this should be addressed in the article — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.49.185.24 (talk) 07:22, 12 April 2016 (UTC)
