- However, in its compliance report in accordance with its Community Benefits Agreement with Prince George's County, verified by a third party monitor, MGM reported exceeding minority business requirements (30% MBE and 12% County-based MBE minimum requirements) and local hiring goals (20% minimum) during the 3-year construction phase of the casino, spending 40% or $367,907,202.64 of its construction value with certified MBEs (including 17% of construction value or $158,453,385.85 with County-based MBEs) and hiring County residents for 1,097,878 hours or 27% of the over 4 million in total construction work hours on the project, receiving significant praise from Prince George's County Council Member and former Council Chairman, Mel Franklin.[1]
