Date of the stories[edit]

The article previously claimed the stories were set before 1950, but that seems to contradict the book itself where a man talks about his youth and mentions that his father was killed in the 1959 uprising.

Characters for name[edit]

Am changing the traditional form of the name, it is 馬建 according to [1], [2], not 馬健.

Bias[edit]

Concerning criticisms of 'Stick Out Your Toungue': the wikipedia entry states that the book's 'most remarked-upon feature is that traditional Tibetan culture is not idealised, but rather depicted as harsh and often inhuman; one reviewer noted that the "stories sketch multi-generational incest, routine sexual abuse and ritual rape".' yet the reviewer actually says that 'Ma's Tibetans are all-too-human "desiring machines"; his stories sketch multi-generational incest, routine sexual abuse and ritual rape' in the actual review. Obviously, the reviewer doesn't say or imply in any way that it seemed 'harsh' or 'inhuman'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 125.25.68.100 (talk) 14:40, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Persion Translation[edit]

This was incorrectly added to the references list rather than the main body of the article;

His short story as The Abandoner was translated to Persian Language in Golstaneh Monthly by Yousef Heidary Torkamaani in Iran in 2004.
I can't find anything to substantiate this online, nor any reference to Yousef Haidary Torkamaani, though Google seems to indicate the publication itself should be 'Golestaneh Monthly' so maybe there is a transliteration problem with the spelling.Number36 (talk) 20:26, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Publications[edit]

Bibliographical details are missing for all his Chinese works. Were they all actually published? --Babel fish (talk) 17:07, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
