Dates for operation/completion

[edit]

there are different sources and each source has a different date. the first source says 2015, with full operation by 2020. the second source is the gov.mo site, and it doesnt say anything on the firont page, but if you dig around you can see 2016 was tossed in there. The third source is the skyscrapercity thread, and in it is a news article (LRT link to Delta bridge good for Cotai casinos, 14/03/2012 10:24:00, Macau Daily Times) that claims:

2016 launch

... “Although not addressed, we would anticipate this spur line to open sometime after phase one opens in 2016,” Union Gaming Research wrote. The analysts are less optimistic that the government, which pledged to have the LRT first phase up and running by 2015.

The construction works for the initial LRT route in downtown Taipa should be ready around May 2015. The two-kilometer project, which will include five stations – Ocean Gardens, Macau Jockey Club, Macau Stadium and one between the old Taipa village and the Galaxy Macau resort –...

From which you could expect that the government projection was initially May 2015, then anytime in 2015 .. and more recently 2016 is expected. It is interesting to note that they still were very optimistic about phase 2, the wording suggests that Phase 2 might complete only a year after phase one. However, everywhere else in the thread, including in posts after this one, were news sources talking about a 2015 launch date. I don't think it makes sense to talk about these delaying all the way until 2016 just based on one outside analyst (which the article here did), when the government and most news stories on the project almost exclusively refer to 2015 as the proper date. I am removing references to 2016 or at least specifying that they were speculation. — robbie page talk 00:48, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
