maHazor

[edit]

het is a gutteral, it can not take a sh'wa, it takes a hataph patah, see how it is spelled in in birnbaum. While MaHzor might be more common in spoken...it's wrong.

Page rework

[edit]

I just finished a rather major reworking of the page; hopefully I made it more inclusive, especially of non-Orthodox Jews and of non-exceptionally-traditional machzorim, some of which do contain printed music and melodies, for example. Let's discuss anything that makes others uncomfortable, etc., the usual. Makaristos 08:25, 14 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Meaning

[edit]

What does the word machzor actually mean? Zargulon 10:37, 19 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cycle, as in cycle of prayers. RK (talk) 02:41, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Most common prayerbooks for Rosh HaShanah

[edit]

I can't believe that no machzorim were mentioned or described! I thus added the most popular prayerbooks for all the major denominations. RK (talk) 02:41, 18 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
