Question on date of birth[edit]

If he led an expedition in the late 1050s, how can he have been born in 1048? Even vikings did not let 10-year olds lead expeditions. He is also listed in sources prior to his brother Olaf, suggesting he was the elder son. In light of this I think his date of birth was likely earlier in the 1040s, no later than 1042. --anon —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.175.86.130 (talk) 08:25, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  •  He was not included in official Norwegian regnal lists until modern times, but has since been counted as Magnus II.-Why?

That's explained in the last two paragraphs in the kingship section. Thhist (talk) 21:08, 30 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
