Dear Wikipedians,
This page seems to be in two stub categories. I recommend the removal of this article from 'stub' categories, because its size has grown significantly, and is no longer a stub. George Adam Horváth 08:44, 12 January 2007 (UTC)
Millions of BBC References
[edit]Is this the Hungarian Television article or BBC? - RTV "similar to BBC's Radio Times - Just like BBC, m2 was given its own controller - MTV's move is similar to BBC's move
It is maybe error by copying from BBC article?--125.25.75.111 (talk) 08:57, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
I've re-added references
[edit]I've re-added references that lost during I undid the revisions to the very very very old one. I'll take the whole section (Appearances) to show you all here.
Appearances
[edit]Identity
[edit]MTV is trying to modernise its appearance to re-gain the confidence of its viewers lost to commercial channels. It has had many face-lifts during the last decade. First, its channels were re-branded m1 and m2, and a new identity was given to both. By 2006, the company has changed its identity several times. Old idents featured Hungarian landscapes, scenes of life, and currently, they were brought in-line with the recent revival of folk art, and they feature traditional patterns in sometimes awkward places. The company adopted the motto "Broadcasting values" as a declaration of its dedication to quality and upholding values.
- This stayed ages ago and I put it again
Logo History
[edit]There was two logos in MTV's life. The "Vista" logo used very long, since 1957-2000 and 2002-today. It is the square with channel name inside, sometimes m1 is called mtv. It got one break with the "Artist" logo, used in 2000-2002. It is the squares in red and blue.
- 1957-198x - Doesn't show logo on screen
- 198x-today - Show logo on screen. It's different from other European television, it shows the logo in full-color, while other broadcasters shows in white, or sometimes half-transparent.
- There are like 1,000,000 references of this.
News
[edit]News ident start having in 1957.
FORMER NEWS IDENTS
- 1957-1971 - Black and White
- 1971-today - Color
- That's very simple and everyone knows that color TV started in Hungary in 1971.
Clocks
[edit]Clocks on Magyar Televízió introduced in 2000 (m1) and 2002 (m2).
There are 6 clocks used since 2000 until now.
- 2000-2002 - Green clock on black background
- 2002-2004 - White clock on blue background
- 2004-2006 - Same as above, but with minor changes
- 2006-2008 - Cookie clock
- 2008-2010 - White designed clock on blue background with bricks, as the same as "vista" look
- 2010-today - White clock on gray background
- Making news or references of the clocks are pointless and stupid, but some people take it to YouTube, but that's not a good source.
Test Card
[edit]- Oldest testcard.
- 1971-1980 - PM5544 with no time or date, Upper text is MTV. Lower text is Budapest.
- 1980-1990 - PM5544 with time.
- 1990-2006 - PM5544 with time and date.
- 2006-today - Colorbars.
- See above, making news or references of test patterns are pointless and stupid but from YouTube, I think it's OK.
Closing and Opening times
[edit]It doesn't play 24 hours
m1
[edit]- 1957-1983 opens between 19:00 and 20:00 up to when all the employees arrived at the station and closes sometimes between 22:00 and 0:00
- 1983-1989 opens at 18:00 and closes sometimes between 23:00 and 0:00
- 1989 open times changes every weeks. Closing times still being the same.
- 1990-1997 opens at 6:00 and close at 11:30 and open again at 16:00 and closes sometimes between 23:30 and 1:00.<ref>[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6c8gyUDoQM Closedown from 1994 at 23:52]</ref>
- 1997-1999 opens 24 hours to April 13, 1999
- 1999-2005 opens at 5:30 closes sometimes between 0:00 and 1:00 to follow the government's suggestions so they close again.
- 2005-today opens between 4:00 and 7:00 closes sometimes between 0:00 and 2:00, later between 2:00 and 4:00.
- Schedule is the best reference.
m2
[edit]- 1971-1985 opens between 19:00 and 20:00. Closes sometimes between 22:00 and 23:00
- 1985-1997 opens at 12:30 and close at 14:00 and open again at 16:30 closes sometimes betwaan 23:30 and 1:00.<ref>[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HZ4rZcEQKPc&feature=related Closedown from 1993 at 23:49]</ref>
- 1997-today opens 24 hours
Comment on the above
[edit]There were not sufficient reliable sources to justify all of that, YouTube isn't a valid reliable source (as you have been told repeatedly), much of what you have added to other articles has been blatantly false, and it's mostly non-encyclopedic trivia anyway - Wikipedia is not a TV schedule guide. -- Boing! said Zebedee 20:46, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- PS: The only possibly reliable reference was a 10 year old TV schedule - if Wikipedia isn't a TV schedule guide, it certainly isn't a guide to randomly-chosen historical TV schedules -- Boing! said Zebedee 20:56, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
- I thought YouTube is a reliable reference. But no one posts the clock outside YouTube, because I've said it's pointless and stupid to do it.--125.25.209.137 (talk) 23:43, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Only one source

BBC comparison
[edit]Then tomorrow when the page is unprotected, I will take a time to edit and I will add the construction template. Please tell me where are the BBC comparisons?--125.25.213.120 (talk) 16:02, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
- The BBC comparisons were removed by GedUK, so you'll have to search the history if you want to find them. If you add new material tomorrow, be sure to only add it if it has proper references (that is, a reference to a reliable source that confirms every claim you make), or it will be removed again and the article might be protected again to stop you (That's why it was protected last time - to stop YOU). It's no good just adding a construction template and thinking that will allow you to add unsourced claims, as you have already had plenty of time to find what you need. So find your sources first, then only add new material after you have done that -- Boing! said Zebedee 16:12, 19 April 2010 (UTC)
- Only five hours left! It's time to countdown! But I see I have added last year but just removed last week? And later I went to Laos for 2 days. Where can I find sources about this?--125.25.213.120 (talk) 01:44, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
Only ten minutes!!
[edit]I am waiting, but I will add construction tmplate. But we will talk later. Not everything needs references--125.25.42.129 (talk) 06:37, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- I've removed it all again, as it was all completely unsourced - it ALL needs references, otherwise we can have no idea of whether it is true or whether you just made it all up. If you keep doing this, it's going to end up protected again. -- Boing! said Zebedee 07:51, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- It's protected again -- Boing! said Zebedee 09:43, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
I've added
[edit]I've added the clock below so I can know when to do it.
18:10--125.25.42.129 (talk) 06:39, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
References
[edit]For some references, I have found ONLY from personal blogs or YouTube. (Unreliable sources) but in some of them is OK to not have the references.--125.25.42.129 (talk) 06:56, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
- If you cannot find references, or if all you can find is personal blogs or YouTube, then you cannot add the information - it really is as simple as that! -- Boing! said Zebedee 07:55, 20 April 2010 (UTC)
ANI

My draft
[edit]/draft--125.25.14.95 (talk) 10:32, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
- So far, it looks like all your additions are unsourced, so I assume you will be working on providing sources now? Basically, what you need to do is provide evidence that all your claims about idents, clocks, schedules etc are accurate - perhaps you could explain here where you got the information from in the first place? Anyway, if you are uncertain whether a source is good enough, just add it to your draft and ask here, and I'll be happy to take a look at it for you (as, hopefully, will others) -- Boing! said Zebedee 11:17, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
- Oh, and please note - you can't just move it to main space when you have 10 references, because it is not the number of references that count - what you must have is reliable references as per WP:RS, and the references must actually support the claims that you make. So if you transfer your new version to main space and the references are not reliable, or if they do not actually support all of the claims you make, it will most likely be reverted again (and possibly protected again). If you cannot support all of your claims with reliable references, you should remove those specific claims that you cannot support before you think about transferring to main space. And actually, it would be best to wait for comments here before you transfer anything at all. -- Boing! said Zebedee 11:24, 4 May 2010 (UTC)
Can someone check on draft page and see if it's enough or not--125.25.241.0 (talk) 13:44, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
- I'll be happy do, but I'm too busy at the moment so it won't be until later or (more likely) tomorrow -- Boing! said Zebedee 14:23, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
- Actually, I've just done a quick check - and you have not added any references at all! Do your research and add some references, and please don't waste our time until you have done so! -- Boing! said Zebedee 14:26, 6 May 2010 (UTC)
Translation
[edit]I was directed to this article via the "Articles in need of translation" section, but reading through the article now it seems absolutely fine. Was the tag misplaced, or has someone already proof-read the article but not removed the tag? Melissza (talk) 10:47, 10 May 2011 (UTC)
