Overview

I have re-inserted (and reverted the removal of) the overview which provides information/background on the two forms of the mantra. This information is absent from the Hare Krishna article. Sfacets 01:25, 19 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dear User:Sfacets, much information regarding the Hare Krishna mantra is already covered within the Hare Krishna article. This is a disambiguation page. If you feel something is genuinely missing then surely it should be added on there and not here? For example see :

Some versions of the Kali Santarana Upanishad give the mantra with Hare Rama preceding Hare Krishna, and others with Hare Krishna preceding Hare Rama (as quoted above). The latter format is by far the more common within the Vaishnava traditions. The mantra is believed to be equally potent when spoken either way.

There is only a change in word order in different recensions of Kali Santarana Upanishad. Many other Upanishads and samhitas of Vedas do have this minor changes in word order. Wikipedia article on Vedic Shakas will make it more clear. Caithanya Mahaprabhu has followed the recension of Kali Santarana Upanishad in which 'Hare Krishna' format is seen. This recension is also as orginal as the one(s) in which 'Hare Rama' format is seen (eg. One recension of Kali Santarana Upanishad) Tharikrish 17:17, 6 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]
