Mailman → Mailman (disambiguation) – Sorry to waste everyone's time, but it would seem that "mailman", "the mailman", "mail-man" et al should serve as redirects to mail carrier since that is historically the primary meaning of the word and still would be the only search term on this disambiguation page that is even a direct match of the term. Bossanoven (talk) 01:00, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose – "historically the primary meaning of the word" is not a good rationale for a primarytopic grab. Leave the disambig page there. Dicklyon (talk) 04:00, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Dicklyon: That was only half of the rationale. Did you bother to read before commenting? - Bossanoven (talk) 22:30, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
- I did; the rest seemed similarly irrelevant when I looked at the dab page and saw a bunch of appropriately useful info there. Dicklyon (talk) 05:56, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- Support is the primary topic -- 65.94.40.137 (talk) 08:55, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
- Support, as the long-term significance is obvious. That is what the position was previously called, and it is still what the position is sometimes called when referring to a specific mail carrier who is male (here's an example, ). The other things listed at the disambiguation are either things and one person named/nicknamed "Mailman" that intentionally play off the idea that a "mailman" is a guy that delivers letters to people, and people surnamed "Mailman", which usually only comes into play when discussing primary topics when the person is incredibly historically significant, not just notable enough to get an article. It's also worth noting that Postman, which essentially has the same pros and cons as Mailman when it comes to the issue of redirecting to Mail carrier, already directs there. - Support - with no capital M then mailman refers to postman. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:57, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

- Support, borderline speedy. bd2412 T 15:40, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- Support – seems pretty obvious and the other topics don't look like significant competition (and the name of basically all the other topics seem to be derived from the mail carrier meaning). —BarrelProof (talk) 20:51, 28 January 2015 (UTC)
- Support as per nom. GregKaye 13:12, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
- Support. Not sure about Mail carrier being the most common name but that's a whole other issue. Strongly agree that WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for mailman is that article though. Zarcadia (talk) 18:21, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
- Support, although I too have no idea why the article is at the somewhat obscure mail carrier. -- Necrothesp (talk) 16:33, 4 February 2015 (UTC)
