Documents published by Bankstown City Council give the name "Captain George Johnson" - instead of "Major George Johnston" (note the Captain/Major and Johnson and Johnston difference). I am inclined to believe that "Johnston" is the correct name because other documents published by the council give the name "George Johnston Jr.", which is most probably one of his sons.
