a type of recurrent aphthous stomatitis? or something different

[edit]

I would have thought major aphthous ulceration refered to the major type of RAS ... on the aphthous ulcer page. From the description in the article however, "Major aphthous ulcer" is a nodular rather than ulcerative, so it sounds like something different... lesion (talk) 09:11, 27 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

After further study of this topic, a major aphthous ulcer is a type of aphthous stomatitis, which used to be termed "Periadenitis mucosa necrotica recurrens". This subtype is already discussed in much greater depth on the main aphthous stomatitis page. Furthermore, I think the description of a nodular lesion is not supported by any other source that I have read on the subject. Therefore redirecting this page to aphthous stomatitis#Major aphthous ulceration. Lesion (talk) 08:58, 25 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
