Date of appointment for Shrimpton[edit]
I haven't been able to find a notice for this yet in the Gazette. Though Parr was appointed Governor of Nova Scotia in 1782, and this site suggests that Shrimpton was made Tower Major in or shortly after 1782, the annual Army List still gives Parr as Tower Major in the 1785 edition, p. 145. Shrimpton's name is in the 1786 List, p. 141. Opera hat (talk) 08:32, 6 November 2016 (UTC)
