Fair use rationale for Image:Mandy-Smith-Victim-Of-Pleasur-68521.jpg

Image:Mandy-Smith-Victim-Of-Pleasur-68521.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 03:31, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

Contradiction/Early Life

In the same graph, the article states the relationship began at both 13 and 14. It can be one or the other, but not both unless clarification is provided that the timeframe is disputed or unclear. Jaydubya93 (talk) 13:54, 13 January 2014 (UTC)

How times have changed. Can you imagine a famous 47-year-old man dating a 13-year-old girl in 2006?!?!?!?! The media would go into overdrive, and destroy the man!

I'm not judging Mandy or Bill .... I don't know the facts.

It's true. In this day and age, they'd have the guy swinging from the nearest tree and not by the neck either... Conquistador26 9 November 2006 18:32

Actually, little changed in regards to the British media's opinion of men dating such young girls. On page 225 of Rolling Stones: Rip This Joint, Steve Appleford quotes a British tabloid headline from 1986 urging police to "JAIL THIS WORM WYMAN FOR LOVING MANDY 13". - + —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.58.205.40 (talk) 11:46, August 23, 2007 (UTC)
Ahh, so nothing to do with The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, then :) 152.78.194.172 (talk) 09:12, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Have either of them talked on the record about the "facts" of their relationship -- how they met, how they began dating, and the reasons her mother supported their dating? Here in the US the "age of consent" is differnt in each of the 50 states -- 18 in some, 16 in others -- but if she were under the "age of consent" to consent to a sexual relationship with an adult it wouldn't make any different whether the relationship between them was consensual and/or if her parents gave their consent. It wouldn't even matter if Bill and Mandy intended to get married (which they did) and Mandy's mother was in favor of the marriage. Bill was lucky he wasn't dealing with American sex laws! Not really. It's just as illegal in the UK. As to why he wasn't prosecuted, this was before Paedogeddon. Back then men like that were seen as "naughty boys", Mandy was regularly referred to in tabloids as "Wild Child Mandy Smith", and portrayed as an instigator and seductress rather than a victim of child rape. There's no statute of limitation on child sex, and half of anyone who was famous in the 1970s is now going through the wringer. I wonder why nobody's asked Bill to have a seat over there yet? 188.29.164.126 (talk) 06:50, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

Under UK law there has to be a complaint from the victim before the police can get involved. As yet, Smith has made no complaint. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.11.123.16 (talk) 15:17, 25 June 2015 (UTC)

Family tangle

Can we get confirmation about whether her mother actually married Bill Wyman's son? Valetude (talk) 23:43, 30 June 2015 (UTC)
