Mania vs. Maniae

In Greek mythology, Mania and the Maniae are essentially the same beast/s - the personification or personifications of insanity. Like a number of other mythological beings (eg. Pseudologos & the Pseudologoi, Lyssa/Furor/Ira & the Furore/the Irae), they are variously identified as being either a single daimon (Mania) or a horde of daimons (the Maniae).

Lyssa is, incidentally, not one of the Maniae, but rather her/their sister, who works closely with her/them and shares a similar domain. The Maniae are Mania.

There is no point in dedicating two separate articles to the same mythological being. The articles should be merged. -Shoemoney2night (talk) 04:24, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
