Subsunk?[edit]

There's an evident conflict in sources. Lenton credits only 19 fleet boats to Manitowoc, & the other 9 to EB (p.95). Who's right? TREKphiler hit me ♠ 20:44, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Jane's Fighting Ships of World War II, Fahey's The Ships and Aircraft of the U.S. Fleet (Victory Edition), and Kafka & Pepperburg's Warships of the World all agree with Silverstone. I'm not sure that makes Lenton wrong, but he's certainly outnumbered. Thewellman (talk) 22:21, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Add Samuel Eliot Morrison's History of United States Naval Operations in World War II to those supporting Silverstone rather than Lenton on Manitowoc's production. Thewellman (talk) 22:37, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This has a list. NavSource and DANFS lists USS Mero (SS-378). Navsource even has launch photos and a Commemorative post card postmarked in Manitowoc to celebrate the keel laying. Same for Menhaden (SS-377) If Lenton lists Mero and Menhaden as EB, then I'd say that would be wrong. --Dual Freq (talk) 22:39, 14 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
