Trial photos[edit]

On various news articles I've read on Manuel Pardo Jr, mostly interviews with him in aricles written shortly before his execution in 2012, I've seen trial photos of him from 1986 where he appears very different from the mugshot I was able to properly obtain and include in the article. He appears to be a lot younger and has a thick head of dark black hair in the photos. However, I have not included them because I was not able to properly ascertain the licensing agreements and issues and opted to just leave them out until I can figure out the licensing issues. If anyone else can obtain these with the proper licensing and include them, or inform me of how to do so, I would greatly appreciate that. Requesting page protection due to persistent vandalism[edit]

Exactly what the topic header says. Within the past few months if not longer, I’ve noticed at least 5 or more different people vandalizing this page for shits and giggles. It all seems to be themed around the video game Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, in which there’s a playable character named after this notorious criminal named Manny Pardo, who’s gradually revealed to be a sadistic attention craving serial killer named the “Miami Mutilator”, who unbeknownst to his colleagues is the Miami PD detective himself investigating his own murders. There’s a popular internet meme within the fandom for that game of comically denying in a really obvious way that Manny himself is the Miami Mutilator, and that he’s actually a really good top cop chasing a sophisticated serial killer who’s too advanced for normal investigation techniques to work against him. The whole joke is that if you’ve played the game, you already know the character Manny Pardo is himself the Miami Mutilator and it’s really obvious.

All of the persistent vandalism seems to be themed around this, and editing the “In popular culture” section which mentions Hotline Miami 2 and the significance of the fictional character who was named after Manuel Pardo with deliberately false information about the game and it’s relation to this actual notorious murderer. This is clearly done for comedy related to the above mentioned internet meme derived from Hotline Miami 2, but as I’ve stated in my reverts of this vandalism, it’s not funny, it’s just annoying. I do find the Miami Mutilator meme funny normally, but this is the wrong place for it and the vandalism got old quickly.

As such, if a Wikipedia administrator is reading this, I request that this page be semi-protected, with regular editors like me and others needing to request permission to edit, as to combat this persistent page vandalism. My editing mistakes[edit]

It has come to my attention when I saw the response to my semi-protection request that I accidentally undid info and hard work put into this article, because some of the humorous vandalism I’ve mentioned was accidentally restored by mistake, and by mistake myself, overlooked this and undid all these edits, because I initially mistakenly believed the vandalism was being restored intentionally.

I have come to realize mistake, and I sincerely apologize for the errors I have made and wish to help the other editors correct them. For those who added information and accidentally restored some of the vandalism without realizing it, by all means feel free to add that content back minus the “Miami Mutilator” memes, and if necessary, I may look for those helpful additions in the revision history and see if they can be restored minus the vandalism that was done by anonymous users previously.

Again, I hope to make this right, and I sincerely apologize for my editing mistakes leading up to this point, and how frustrated I got over the previous situation with the occasional vandalism. Thank you for reading, and I hope we can all come together as editors to correct these mistakes and further improve this article. I also hope the earnestness in my intentions as an editor and my desire to improve as one are clear too, and that not all of my edits were destructive, and that at least some were helpful like I intended. Blanking the in popular culture section[edit]

So why did someone blank an entire section of the article with no explanation? That's nothing but counterproductive. If you think that section isn't very good or don't like how it's written, then please try to improve it, don't just nuke it. All blanking it accomplishes is removing relevant information from the article about this infamous serial killer's cultural impact, including inspiration for famous works of entertainment.
